Ulaanbaatar Will Have New Airport by 2015 |
ULAANBAATAR will have a new international airport by 2015. This will be built with Japanese assistance in Khoshigt valley in Tov aimag, at a place close to Zuunmod, the aimag center, which is about 54 kilometers from the capital. Japanese Ambassador Yasuyoshi Ichihashi has said that his Government will be giving a 40-year loan of US$270 million to help fund the construction work. The interest rate of the loan will be 0.2 percent and repayment will begin only after 10 years will be freed from loan payment, according to the embassy official.
The airport construction together with high speed motorway that connects Ulaanbaatar with the airport are expected to be started in 2011 and be completed in four years. |

We informed that MPRP and DP leaders are to sign on Joint government agreement at the State Palace. S.Bayar, MPRP leader, N.Altanhuyag, DP leader, members of a task group, comprising of two party members to form joint government, and other members attended the signing event. Though MPRP has won the majority in the Parliament, it decided to establish a joint government with the minority, which shocked many people. There are many people who support joint government, whilst there are many who oppose. Members of two parties signed on 5-Article agreement in order to maintain firm and solid joint government. Scientists using high-tech in search for 13th century tomb of Chinggis Khaan |
American scientists are in Mongolia and searching for the tomb of Chinggis Khaan. "As outrageous as it might sound, we're looking for the tomb of Chinggis Khaan," Dr. Albert Yu-Min Lin, an affiliated researcher for UCSD's Center for Interdisciplinary Science in Art, Architecture and Archaeology (CISA3), said in a statement to the Xinhua news agency. Lin is part of a team of scientists from the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology working on the project in northeastern Mongolia. |
